    One of the most widely practised Dongba rituals, ''Zzerq Ciul Zhuaq''is often seen in the village of Shuming. But they were scattered widespread by persecution. The relationships between them have been formed over many years. They now live mainly in their ancestral territories in the provinces of Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Jilin. Like other nomadic nations they live in tents.

    They have a distinctive style of music and architectural style that tourists can appreciate. There is a sizeable population of 11 million. Under this policy, five autonomous regions; Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Guangxi, Ningxia and Tibet, as well as numerous autonomous prefectures, counties, nationality townships and towns have been set up.
